In 1968, the 45GS launched as the first Grand Seiko with a 10-beat manual winding movement. This new 2024 Birch Bark model introduces the first Grand Seiko 10-beat manual winding movement in 50 years - the in-house built9SA4. This Birch Bark model presents a new dial finish, inspired by the horizontal patterns on white birch tree bark found in the forests near Shizukuishi studio where all Grand Seiko mechanical watches are crafted.

INSPIRED BY WHITE BIRCH TREE BARK

This striking model is characterized by its silver dial, with a distinct horizontal pattern and a blue seconds hand. Less than 10mm in depth, the slender 45mm case is crafted from Brilliant Hard Titanium, an alloy which is brighter than traditional titanium for abeautiful, lightweight timepiece that is also highly resistant to corrosion and scratches. Visible through the transparent caseback, the new in-house 9SA4 10 beat manual-winding caliber powers the watch with the ultimate precision, offering an 80-hour power reserve. Based on the 9SA5 movement, the caliber features a newly designed manual-winding movement, a new bridge shape, and a new wheel finish. A black crocodile leather strap completes the aesthetic.
