A glamorous and elegant ladies’ mechanical model with a newly-designed compact self-winding mechanism. This watch houses the Calibre 9S25 newly designed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Calibre 9S. While the watch has been made more compact by redesigning the major components, it very much lives up to the Grand Seiko brand with 8 beats and the 50-hour power reserve, along with accuracy of +8 to -3 seconds per day (when static), the highest level in the world among watches of equivalent size. Calibre 9S25 movements are assembled by hand by craftsmen at the Shizuku-Ishi Watch Studio, and like other mechanical movements, are subjected to a 17- day testing program based on the newly-established Grand Seiko Standard Inspection (for ladies watches) to ensure reliable quality. The case, in 18k rose gold, combines curves that suggest elegance and refinement with the crisp shaping that is unmistakably Grand Seiko, and matches the “Mount Iwate pattern” of the silver lame-look dial, which depicts a glittering snow-covered Mount Iwate, the mountain that is visible through the windows of the Shizuku-Ishi Watch Studio. In addition, it features 37 diamonds set into the bezel and 60 diamond facet cuts, brilliantly gleaming on your wrist. The watch also comes with a white replacement strap incorporating the ancient Japanese aesthetic of Uramasari that plays on the contrast between the front and back, and its wearer can also enjoy the different expression from the deep-Bordeaux crocodile leather strap.
