The Patek Philippe Aquanaut may be one of the most important modern luxury sport watches on the market.

The Reference 5060J, launched in 1996 for the 20th anniversary of the Nautilus, was a type of transitional watch. Borrowing features from the Nautilus but doing away with the famed case “ears” of that porthole-inspired model and adding lugs, it provided the basis for the Reference 5060A in 1997, the first model actually bearing the Aquanaut name. The Aquanaut would go on to form the basis of a full collection of luxury sports watches that provided the entry point into the Patek Philippe catalog.

This particular Aquanaut, a Reference 5068R-010 is a ladies’ model with a set of stunning features that help it stand beautifully out from the crowd: Housed in a 35.5mm rose gold case with a signed, screw- down crown, a sapphire crystal, and a bezel set with 46 sparkling diamonds, it has an embossed white dial with applied rose gold ‘Arabic’ indices, a luminous ‘sword’ handset, a date window at 3 o’clock, and an outer minute track with ‘dash’ and rhomboid indices.

Powered by the automatic Patek Philippe Calibre 324 S.C. movement and paired to a white rubber strap with a signed, rose gold fold-over clasp, this stunning sports model from the late 2010s watch comes with its factory goodies.
