Cartier has a reputation for greatness in luxury for good reason. Their iconic watches and jewelry collections can be recognized from miles away. But what makes the design house all the more intriguing is the mystery that's often associated with the maison's history and the coolness in which they carry themselves.

And every now and then, in complete subtlety, Cartier loves to produce a special timepiece — unannounced and reserved for the, "If you know, you know" crowd.

This piece, a Privé Collection Tank Asymétrique, is an exclusive edition made specifically for the Cartier boutique (actually, a mansion) that resides on 5th Ave in New York City.

Featuring all the hallmarks of a contemporary Tank Asymétrique, this piece features a slightly askewed 26mm x 47mm platinum case equipped with a flat sapphire crystal, ruby cabochon crown, and a center lug that has remained a fixture of the Tank Asymétrique since 2020.

The dial features a fantastic blue sunburst finish and its unique dial configuration where the 12 o'clock marker is positioned at the top right corner pocket. Displayed in alternating numerical-and- dagger index fashion, this piece features a 'TH' adjacent to the 5 o'clock marker paying tribute to the maison's NY boutique location on 5th Ave.

With a manual-winding Calibre found at its core, this piece is mounted on a signed, blue alligator strap with a matching platinum Ardillon pin buckle.

In virtually-unworn condition, this piece is accompanied by its complete set of factory goodies including its outer box, inner box, loupe, and an undated warranty card.

Production of this piece is extremely limited and only a handful of clients are able to request this particular boutique edition making this timepiece a rare bird and a sure-fire addition for any Cartier collector who wants to rep the best city in the world!
