Predating the Tank Louis by nearly two decades, the original Santos model was designed in 1904, and has seen any number of iterations in the past century — including a brilliant revival in recent years. Available in quartz, hand-wound and automatic varieties in different metals and configurations, it’s an important historical model and one of the maison’s finest creations.

This particular Santos, dating to circa the 1990s, features a 24mm two tone 18K yellow gold and stainless steel case with an excellent matching two-tone bracelet, a sapphire crystal, a sapphire cabochon crown, and a grained grey dial with applique Roman indices and a matching blued steel sword handset.

The Galbee is one of the gems of the Cartier Santos hierarchy, and this eccentric two tone example makes for a perfect everyday companion.
