NEW BLUEPRINT FOR GRAND SEIKO STYLE

When Grand Seiko was born in 1960, each watch was designed with precision as its primary aim, and each one looked different to the rest. But in 1967, everything changed. The brand’s designers were asked to create a watch that would set a style blueprint and design language for the future. The result was the 44GS – a watch that embodied the nine design elements designed in the Grand Seiko style. Today’s model offers a modern re-interpretation of the original. Originally designed to achieve a brilliantly shining watch, this modern interpretation features flat surfaces to create a flawless, mirror-like effect. A UNIQUE DESIGN A classic design is reinvented for the modern day, housed in cutting-edge, anti- corrosive Ever Brilliant Steel – an alloy with a pitting resistance 1.7 times that of the steel typically used in luxury watches. The 40mm case is paired with a transparent case back, dual curved sapphire crystal, and a co-ordinating bracelet. The rich blue dial features a beautiful pattern, evoking the captivating surfaces of Mt. Iwate, an imposing peak visible from the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. The Hi-Beat Caliber 9S86 movement offers flawless precision and a 55-hour power reserve. GMT functionality means this timepiece can also tell the time in two places simultaneously – the 24-hour hand can be used to track the time in one time zone, while the local time can be monitored us ing the conventional hour hand.
